Hei!

Kesä tulee ketkutellen. Minä lähden Oulusta veteraanipäivänä kohti Kotirantaa. Kesä ja kattoremontti odottaa.

Lähetän tässä Margaretin kirjeen. Näkyy olevan torstai, kun he tulevat. Toivon, että joku sukulaisista hakisi heidät kentältä ja jollain tavalla järjestäisi Kotirantaan. Luotan nyt, että voitte hoitaa tämän. Olen kirjoittanut Eevalle ja "Karmalaisille". Joten pitäkää yhteyttä.

Olen ajatellut, että se viikonloppu olisi mukavaa, jos sukulaiset tulisivat viettämään viikonloppua kotirantaan.

Toivon, että vastaatte hyvissä ajoin. Yöpymistä varten voinen taas vuokrata naapurista "Kristiltä" huvilan.

Dear Sirkka,

We are so anxious to come-I wish it was tomorrow! There is still snow, but we are losing it fast. Spring is always late here. It sounds like you are going to Kotiranta soon-it must be so beautiful there to go for a long time. I want to see it for myself as much as for my mother who I know in her heart would want that for herself but can't is for happy to have me go. We are arriving in Helsinki on August 9 at 1:00 in the afternoon your time if the flight is on time! If it is too much to come we can take a train or rent a car if you need us too. We were wondering about that, with the four of us and our things will you have a car to fit us? We also wondered about when we were at the house, if we wanted to see some sites, would we need to rent a car anyway? We don't want to be a bother to anyone so please let us know. We would like to see what you think might be good to see while we are there and maybe one of our cousins would like to take us or we can go by ourselves. I know that some of you are probably working and we consider that your time is valuable. We have to leave on August 23 early in the morning. If we want to spend a few days in Helsinki with someone or a hotel we could do it then because our flight is early. There many speak english ? We will bring a dictionary to try the language. Again, if there is anything I can bring to any of you, let me know. We will take lots of pictures! I hope to get a video camera to bring with us so my mother can see when we return. I hope you are still getting your mail - maybe it is being forwarded to the summer house where you will be - if you need at all to call, my number is 207-474-3081 - I think my mother has your number, but I don't know about a phone where you will be?
